The Mission Statement
The Mission
of the Advancements in Medicine Conference is to provide an
annual international forum through which medical and healthcare
professionals in Jamaica and those from other parts of the
world can meet and exchange information on current developments
in medicine and help identify and implement solutions that will
lead to improvements in the healthcare delivery system of
Jamaica.
Objectives
-
Review new
knowledge on infective endocarditis, chronic renal
disease, coronary athersclerosis, erectile dysfunction,
pulmonary embolism, obstructive sleep apnea and others.

CME Credits
This activity has been
planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential
Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for the
Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint
sponsorship of the Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) and
the Organization for Strategic Development in Jamaica
(OSDJ). The Minnesota Medical Association is accredited by
the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for
physicians.
The MMA designates this
educational activity for a Maximum of 14.5 AMA PRA
Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only
claim credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.

the Organization for Strategic Development in Jamaica (OSDJ),
The International Leadership Institute (ILI), The University of
the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences, The Ministry of

Children's Specialty Healthcare, The Jamaican Diaspora-West/Midwest Region

Contributions
It is our desire to make the conference
affordable to as many local as possible. However many of the nurses in
rural Jamaica and students may not be able to afford the cost of
registration, transportation and accommodation. To contribute to the
registration cost of local nurses or students please include the amount
as part of your registration payment.
OSDJ is a 501(c) (3) corporation registered in
the State of Minnesota. Contributions made to provide scholarships to
local students and nurses to attend the conference are tax-deductible.

Registration Deadlines
1. The deadline for early registration is December 15, 2007.
2. Late registration closes February 10, 2008 (Extended though February
18, 2008)
ON-SITE REGISTRATION
On-site late registration will be available 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.
on Friday, February 22nd , 2008 and Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 at the
conference site. On-site registration must be accompanied with payment
by a major credit card, check or cash. This is a LIMITED registration at a
greatly increased rate and OSDJ does not guarantee that tickets to
events, materials, welcome bags or other opportunities will be available
to those who do NOT register by January 31, 2008.

Upon receipt of your registration payment, OSDJ will e-mail you a
registration confirmation. All subsequent updates will be sent via

CANCELLATION POLICY |
Registrants who are unable to attend the
conference will receive a refund less a $60 administrative fee if a
written cancellation is received by December 15, 2007. Cancellations
must be emailed to
osdj@aol.com. No refunds will be granted after
December 15, 2007. OSDJ reserves the right to cancel any program and
assumes no responsibility for personal
expense.
